The Individualist

Type 4 is organized around the desire to be authentic, emotionally deep, unique, and personally significant. Fours often have a strong sense of inner life. They notice subtle moods, aesthetic differences, emotional absences, and what feels missing or inauthentic.

Their strength is depth. They can be creative, introspective, emotionally honest, sensitive to beauty, and capable of articulating experiences others leave vague. At their best, they transform pain, longing, and difference into insight or art.

Their difficulty is envy, melancholy, and identity fixation. Fours may feel that something essential is missing in them or in their life. They can become attached to longing itself, comparing their inner life to others' apparent wholeness. Sometimes they resist ordinary happiness because it feels too shallow or false.

A Type 4 might think: "There is something singular in me, but also something missing that others seem to have."
